The Cedarville Trojans boys’ basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season, as they defeated the Pickford Panthers, 47-34, on Tuesday night at the Purple Palace, in Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference play. In other boys’ basketball from Tuesday night, Rudyard remains unbeaten in EUP Conference play, as they routed Engadine, 66-19. Rudyard (8-1) will be home to Brimley on Tuesday, March 9. You can hear that game on the EUP Game of the Week, with Scott Nason and Ray Bell, on Country 105. Engadine (2-4) is at Newberry on Thursday. Newberry earned a 50-47 win at Brimley on Tuesday in EUP Conference action. Newberry (3-6) is home to Engadine on Thursday. Brimley (3-4) is at St. Ignace on Thursday.
The Sault High Blue Devil boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will be at St. Ignace on Wednesday. You can hear both games on 1230 WSOO with Dave Watson and Ray Bell, starting with the pregame show at 5:30 p.m. In other girls’ basketball on Wednesday night, Cedarville is at Brimley, Pickford hosts DeTour, and Munising will visit Newberry.
The Sault High Blue Devil hockey team fell to Alpena on Tuesday night, 3-2. The Blue Devils, 2-4 on the season, will be home to Petoskey on Friday night and Alpena on Saturday afternoon. You can hear both those games on 1230 WSOO.
