Gerald (Jerry) Raymond Wilcox, of Sault Ste Marie MI, passed away on October 1, 2026, just one day after celebrating his 89th birthday.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Donna Wilcox, his children Steve (Stacey) Wilcox; Joe Johnston; Rodney Wilcox; grandchildren Jena (Billy) Maleport; Mara (Willie) Soden; Racquel Wilcox; Hadley Woods; Nicolas Wilcox; Olivia Wilcox; and great grandchildren Trevin, Darah, Stela and Presley. He is proceeded in death by his dearly loved daughter Debra Johnston; sister Joann Long; and parents Freda and Raymond Wilcox.

At a young age Jerry devoted his time to his family farm where he often worked long hours to support his family. From there he met the love of his life, Donna, and together the raised three beautiful children. Jerry spent his career being known as the best Janitor at Washington School where everyone enjoyed seeing his smiling face. He had a niche for spending time at his cabin in Stalwart, puttsying around in his garden or shop and playing an active role in the upbringing of his grandchildren. Jerry was a devoted husband and father, a hardworking man and a trustworthy friend (being especially close to his neighborhood friends.)

He brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will be cherished.
