Delta County, Michigan. A 47-year-old Garden woman was seriously injured after being
ejected from her vehicle in a crash in Fairbanks Township. The driver was not wearing a seat
belt, and excessive speed appears to have contributed to the crash.
On October 9, 2026, at approximately 8:15 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP)
Gladstone Post responded to a single-vehicle crash on II Road near II Lane in Fairbanks
Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling on II Road near II Lane
when the driver lost control and crashed. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was
ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
Troopers and fellow first responders provided first aid at the scene before the woman was
transported by EMS and later airlifted by Guardian Flight to a hospital for treatment. The
investigation remains ongoing.
MSP was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Tristar EMS, Guardian Flight, Nahma
Township Fire/Rescue, Garden Township Fire Department, and Delta County Central Dispatch.
