10-year-old gets pinned between two cars at Houghton Lake school. Suffers internal injuries

ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI. On Monday, February 13, 2023, at approximately 7:55 a.m., troopers from
the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post were dispatched to Collins Elementary School in
Houghton Lake to investigate a vehicle that had struck a ten-year-old child. Troopers arrived on scene
and located a ten-year-old child from Houghton Lake sitting in a vehicle complaining of stomach pain.

According to witnesses at the scene, a 31-year-old Houghton Lake woman had parked her vehicle and
took her children into the school. She returned to her vehicle to leave the school. As she was backing
out of her parking space, a ten-year-old student from the school got out of his father’s vehicle and shut
the door. The woman backed her vehicle into the man’s vehicle, pinning the child between them. The
child was transported to West Branch Mid-Michigan Hospital by Denton Township EMS, and later
transferred to Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw. The child suffered internal injuries and is reported to
be in stable condition. This investigation is ongoing.

  1. Howdy just wanted to give you a brief heads up and
let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading properly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different
browsers and both show the same outcome.
