Nicole Lynn Rochefort

Nicole Lynn Rochefort, age 40, of Kincheloe, Michigan, passed on from this life on November 25, 2022, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on October 9, 1982, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to Everett Stanley White and Janice Lynn (Wilkins) Payment.

Nicole grew up in Kincheloe alongside her six siblings, Billy White, Steven Payment, Jerry Payment, Paul Payment, Tamara Lewis and Jamie Payment. She attended Rudyard High School and graduated with the class of 2002. Nicole was an incredibly hard worker and started working immediately after graduation. She spent some time working for the carnival which gave her the opportunity to travel. She found the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Rochefort and built a life together raising their children, Ethan and Cole Rochefort. They had been together for twenty-two years when they married on April 28, 2022, at the Kincheloe Baptist Church.

Nicole was known for her determination and hardworking nature. She loved going to Car Shows with Joe or going out shopping. She was a sociable person, and you couldn’t help but love her; She made friends everywhere she went. Nicole loved hosting family barbeques and spending time with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend & will be greatly missed by so many people. She was selfless. Always concerned with others before herself. As in the book “I Am Third” by Gale Sayers. She epitomized that.

Nicole is survived by her husband, Joe; sons, Ethan Rochefort & Cole Rochefort; siblings; Billy White, Steven Payment, Jerry Payment, Paul Payment, Tamara Lewis and Jamie Payment; step-father, James Payment; mother-in-law, Nancy Bartley; sister-in-law, Trisha Ward; uncle, John White; aunts, Diane White and Connie White as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nicole is preceded in death by her parents, Everett White and Janice Payment; father-in-law, Scott Bartley; grandparents, Bert and Bernice White and Earl and Frances (Miron) Wilkins; uncles,
Richard Wilkins and Paul Buck; and Aunt Holly Wilkins.
There will be no service at this time, but the family will be holding a celebration of life for Nicole in the spring of 2023. The family will make an announcement at a later date.
