Three local men arrested on drug charges

OTSEGO COUNTY, MI. On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) 7th District Hometown Security Team stopped a Chrysler Town and Country minivan for an equipment violation on northbound I-75 near Mile Marker 277 in Bagley Township. A 30-year-old Kinross man was a passenger in the van and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Kent County for failure to appear on a Possession of Methamphetamine charge. The driver and occupants were interviewed at the scene. An MSP Canine Team was called to assist based on information obtained during the traffic stop. The canine hit on several places in the vehicle. A syringe was located in the center console area. The vehicle was towed to a secure location and all occupants were released except for the 30-year-old Kinross man with the outstanding warrant. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle. During the search troopers discovered 107 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside the passenger side of the front dash. The street value is estimated at just over $21,000.

A report was submitted to the Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office and the following charges were issued. The driver, 21-year-old Hayden William Huyck from Hessel was charged with one count Delivery of Methamphetamine. He was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on November 30, His bond was set at $20,000 cash. His next scheduled court appearance is on January 7, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.

The front seat passenger, 36-year-old Timothy Alan Hutchings from Sault Sainte Marie was charged with one count Delivery of Methamphetamine. He was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on November 20, 2020. His bond was set at $20,000 cash. His next scheduled court appearance is on December 3, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.

The rear seat passenger, 28-year-old Chelsie Catherine Dukes from Helen was charged with one count Delivery of Methamphetamine. She was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on November 24, 2020. Her bond was set at $20,000 cash. Her next scheduled court appearance is on December 3, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.

The 30-year-old Kinross man remains lodged in Kent County and will face the similar charges as the other occupants in Otsego County.
