The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau, St. Ignace Events Committee, and Labatt Blue have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Labatt Blue U.P. Adult Pond Hockey Championship, originally scheduled for February 11-14, 2021
This unique event has been a staple in St. Ignace for 14 years and draws amateur hockey players and enthusiasts from all over the Midwest and Canada to play hockey on frozen Lake Huron. Though we are deeply saddened to see the event cancelled this year, we are already planning to come back strong in 2022.
“The safety of our guests and residents will always take top priority and although we are making great strides toward moving past this pandemic, we aren’t out of the woods yet,” said St. Ignace Visitors Bureau executive director Lora Brown, “the only way to truly ensures safety with an event like this is to cancel for the time being, and regroup next year.”
Please follow the event page on Facebook or the Discover St. Ignace Facebook page to stay informed about details of next year’s event.
