Laker Men’s & Women’s 2020-21 GLIAC Schedules Revealed

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Lake Superior State men’s and women’s basketball programs in conjunction with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) have officially revealed their 2020-21 conferences schedules on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Each team’s schedule will consist of 18 conference games spread out over eight weekends beginning on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. The GLIAC announced that presidents and chancellors also allowed non-conference games prior to Jan. 1 to be scheduled at each intuitions’ discretion.

There are a couple of major differences in the scheduling this year. First, the men’s and women’s teams will not be competing together as the teams will rotate home and away series for the ten weeks of competition. Also, the teams will play a weekend series against the same opponent instead of two separate opponents which was done in previous seasons.

The LSSU men’s basketball team is set to open conference play at home on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 against Wayne State University. The full Lake Superior State men’s GLIAC opponent schedule is listed below – dates and times have not yet been determined:

  • Week 1: Wayne State at Lake Superior State
  • Week 2: Lake Superior State at Purdue Northwest
