Sault Ste. Marie, MI — Effective at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11th, Seasonal Load
and Speed Restrictions will be lifted on all City Streets. Normal legal weight limits will
resume at that time. Please use designated truck routes for permitted overweight and
oversized vehicles.
Transport permits may be purchased via Oxcart Permitting System. Please call the City
Engineering Department with any questions at (906) 632-5732. The most current version
of the City’s Truck Route can be found on the Engineering Dept Website.
Transport Permit Fees
A. Individual Oversize $30.00*
B. Individual Oversize / Overweight $200.00
C. Annual Oversize (not including overweight) $100.00*
D. Administration / Investigation Fee for Transporting / Overweight or Oversize without a permit $500.00 plus damages
*Plus costs incurred by the City for labor, equipment & materials as applicable.
