JV Football Wraps up Season on the Road

In a battle of Blue Devils vs. Blue Devils, it was the Gaylord Blue Devils that came out on top in the final game of the JV football season. The Sault High Blue Devils were down 21-0 at the half, but didn’t allow any more points in the second half. Gaylord’s defense kept the Sault from hitting the scoreboard altogether. The final score remained 21-0.

Coach Arnie Hallai reflected on the game and the season. “I thought our boys played well. Big plays and mistakes hurt us again. Even though there are 11 guys on the field, all it takes is one of them not doing their job or giving 100% to hurt us. But we improved in all areas of the game in some way every week this year. Always going to wish the outcome of the year was different but I’m proud of the group of guys we had, and the work they put in. Just need to keep grinding into the off season. I wish the sophomores well as they transition to varsity, and hope the freshmen take the lessons they learned and apply them throughout the year and into the next season.

The JV Blue Devils finished the season 1-8 overall.
