Charity Hockey Classic Raises Dollars for Compassionate Needs Fund

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. –The Charity Hockey Classic raised more than $8,000 this past weekend for MyMichigan Medical Center Sault’s Compassionate Needs Fund. Players from MyMichigan Medical Center Sault competed against representatives from Clark Construction to raise money and awareness for this new fund in Sault Ste. Marie. During the game the crowd was able to donate funds to increase the score for their favorite team. With a final score of 97 to 95 MyMichigan Medical Center Sault was awarded the championship trophy.

The recent Charity Hockey Classic raised more than $8,000 for MyMichigan Medical Center Sault’s Compassionate Needs Fund. Players from MyMichigan Medical Center Sault competed against representatives from Clark Construction to raise money and awareness for this new fund in Sault Ste. Marie. The fund is used to help those in the Eastern Upper Peninsula with support for such as one-time medication fills, special medical equipment and transportation to and from medical appointments.

The MyMichigan Medical Center Sault Compassionate Needs Fund is used to help those in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. The funds will directly support those who need help with items such as one-time medication fills, special medical equipment and transportation to and from medical appointments. 

“This was a great event to raise funds and awareness for a much-needed benefit for our community,” said Kevin Kalchik, president, MyMichigan Medical Center Sault. “We are grateful to all of the sponsors and community members that came out to support this amazing event. Clark Construction was vital in making this event a success and we are so grateful for their support in our community.”

“There were absolutely no losers in this game,” said Sam Clark, president/CEO, Clark Construction Company. “We came to play for the Sault Ste. Marie community and had fun while doing so. Thank you to the families, friends, colleagues, businesses, and players who saw the need for this philanthropic event and answered the call. We’re all winners when it comes to helping others.”
