Ronald Marvin Clark

Ronald Marvin Clark, 71 of McMillan, died Wednesday morning November 2, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 19, 1951 in Newberry, son of the late Russell and Irene (Mitchell) Clark, Ron was a 1969 graduate of Newberry High School.  On June 27, 1970, Ron married the former Janet Ford at All Saints Episcopal Church in Newberry.

While residing in Plainwell, Ron was employed at the Kalamazoo State Hospital and later at the State Technical and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Lake.  Ron then moved to Kincheloe where he was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Kinross Correctional Facility for 20 years until his retirement in 2009.

During his lifetime, Ron was a member of the Kinross Lions Club and coached little league baseball and youth soccer.

A resident of McMillan for the past three years, Ron was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Newberry and, for the past eight years, enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.   His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and riding his Honda Goldwing.  His greatest enjoyment came from his family, his children and being Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his siblings Kenneth Clark and Ruth Clark; father and mother-in-law Clayton and Elizabeth Ford; brother-in-law Kevin Ford.

Survivors include his loving wife, Janet, of McMillan; children Jeff (Wendy) Clark of Rudyard and Nikki (Mark) Clark of Kincheloe; grandchildren Jared (Jessy), Jaelyn, Jaxon, Jayce and Easton; great-grandchildren Jordan, Jako, Jay and Josie; sister Jennie (Ernie) Hetrick of McMillan; brother-in-law’s Ivan Ford of Lady Lake, Florida and Steve (Cheri) Ford of Ellenton, Florida; nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday November 12, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church in Newberry.  A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Reverend’s Gin Mannisto and Cheri Ford co-celebrating. 

Memorials may be directed to All Saints Episcopal Church or the Rudyard Sports Boosters in his loving memory.
