CCHD to Hold Annual Fall Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic

Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan – Chippewa County Health Department (CCHD) will be hosting a
community drive-through vaccine clinic on Friday, October 2nd in Sault Ste Marie to provide
both seasonal Flu and COVID-19 vaccines. The drive-through clinic will be held at the Sault Ste
Maire Fire Hall, located at 123 Ridge Street in Sault Ste Marie, MI. Hours of operation will be
from 10am to 2pm.

Seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccines are available for anyone 18 years of age or older.
Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances will be billed to cover the cost of vaccination
for both flu and COVID vaccines. CCHD asks everyone attending to bring a state issued ID, and
their insurance information.

“Influenza vaccination is one of the simplest and most effective steps we can take to protect
ourselves, our families, and our communities from serious illness. I encourage everyone who is
eligible to take advantage of this vaccination event and get protected before flu season is fully
underway.” stated CCHD Medical Director, Michael Beaulieu, MD.

Appointments are not necessary for the drive-through clinic. Anyone attending can follow the
signs directing traffic. Cars will be directed to enter the clinic from Ridge Street and drive around
to the back and through the firehall where they will get vaccinated while still in their car. Walk-
ups are welcome; there will be designated location for individuals who are getting vaccines
outside a vehicle. For the safety of CCHD staff, participants are asked to please leave their pets
at home.
