West Portage reconstruction project to start September 6

Sault Ste. Marie, MI — Effective Tuesday, September 6^th, Payne & Dolan will begin the West Portage Avenue reconstruction project.

The project area will be from Easterday Avenue to Osborn Blvd. and will consist of the rehabilitation of 1.548 miles of West Portage Avenue. The rehabilitation will consist of cold milling the existing HMA surface in designated areas, HMA surface overlay of existing HMA surface, concrete curb and gutter replacement in designated areas, pavement markings, and sidewalk ramps at intersecting streets will be updated to ADA standards.  

A future property owner meeting will be held at City Hall on August 17^th to mitigate any issues.
