Fay Godfrey

Fay Ellen Godfrey, age 68, of Kincheloe, MI, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Hospice of the EUP – Hospice House.  

Fay was born on September 24, 1953, to the late Wallace and Myrtle (O’Brien) Kiernan in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.  She graduated with the Sault High School Class of 1971.  On November 15, 1974, she married Dale Godfrey in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.  Fay enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bonfires, and good times with family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.  Fay had a big heart.  

Fay is survived by her four children:  Todd (Stephanie Forbear) Godfrey of Kincheloe, MI; Troy (Brandy Nayback) Godfrey of Rudyard, MI; Tashia (Warren) Spencer of Cheboygan, MI; and Tonya Godfrey of Kinross, MI.  She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also surviving Fay are her four sisters:  Beatrice Frikken of Vancouver, WA; Alverna Godfrey of Southgate, MI; Roselyn Camby of Romulus, MI; and Virginia (Joel) Champagne of Sugar Island, MI; one sister-in-law: Susan Kiernan; and one brother-in-law: Eugene Long.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Dale; two granddaughters:  Madison Spencer and Elizabeth Godfrey; her brothers: William, Clayton, and Clint Kiernan; and four sisters: Hazel Buhro, Gloria Roo, Beulah Kiernan, and Darlene Long. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Friends may gather at the funeral home starting at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
