Doris Alice Arnott

Doris A. Arnott, 87, left her earthly home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2022 at MyMichigan Health in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. She had been in failing health for several years.

“Come onto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28

She was born May 4, 1935 in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Lester and Althera (Billmyer) LaBoe. She attended the Monroe County School System, graduating in 1951. Doris was an avid reader, she loved her books and studying her Bible. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and needlework.

She got her first job as a cooks helper and was then given the job as a grill cook. She worked in the restaurant business for several years. In later years she was a homemaker, loved having a garden, and working in her yard. She enjoyed the cooking, baking, and canning of being a homemaker.

She married Glen Arnott August 23, 1960 in Monroe. They moved to the Sault when he retired in 1996.
They enjoyed fishing and camping, visiting with family and friends, and an occasional visit to the casino. 
 
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister Shirley and a brother Lester Jr., three brothers and one sister who died in infancy. 

Doris is survived by her husband, a brother Walter, and several nieces and nephews. 

At her request there will be no public service. She will be buried in Riverside Cemetery in the Sault. 

Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
