Kay Ellen (Miller) Brandon, age 68, passed away at The Hospice House in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, on April 18, 2022. She was born on December 3, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan, to Richard and Leola (DeWitt) Miller.
Kay grew up in Lansing and graduated from Sexton High School. She married her first husband, Mr. Fountain, and had four children. She worked as a homemaker and in the fast-food industry. She later became a manager at a local convenience store, working as a manager while attending Lansing Community College. Kay received her CNA in 1982 and began working at the Diamond Deelie Community Center. She moved back to the Upper Peninsula in 2021.
Kay enjoyed cooking, reading, puzzles, Cro-Hooking, and arts & crafts. She was also a big fan of bowling and was in a league for more than four years. Most of all, Kay loved spending time with her faithful dog, Buddy, and her family.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Trina Brown of Sault Ste Marie; sons, John Fountain of Concord, Michigan, Richard (Beth) Fountain of Kentucky, Vern Roy Fountain Jr. of Kinross, Michigan, and Steven Michael Mollitor Jr of Florida; sister, Susan Campbell of Fife Lake, Michigan; brother in law, Stanley Furgala of Grayling, Michigan; grandchildren, Audrianna, Sarah, Kian, Emma, Paige, Cindy, Olivia, Elianna, Brooklynn, Devin, Brian, Aubriella, Michael, Ethan, and Braxton; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leon, Braxton, Talon, and Alecsander; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Kay is preceded in death by her sister, Connie (Don) Wythe and Barbara Furgala; grandson, DJ; niece, Jessica; nephew, Dicky; and great-nephew, Javontae.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
