Dave Bourgeault

Louis David “Dave” Bourgeault, 74, of Kinross, MI passed on to Heaven on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

Dave was born on April 3, 1948, in Norristown, PA to John Merrill and Irma Jeanne (Burke) Bourgeault. He was graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Pennsylvania in 1966. He then attended Westchester University and received his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. He married his college sweetheart, Elizabeth “Betji” and they moved to Kincheloe Air Force Base where he served for four years. He was a Buck Sergeant in charge of physical fitness at the base. They loved the area and people that they made this their home.

Dave or “Mr. B” as many of you know him, loved to work with his hands and to teach. He was a master wood worker and coach. He was highly involved in students’ lives in the Rudyard Area for many years. He ran basketball clinics and intramural basketball for elementary age students and coached high and college basketball. He ran a BMX track and volunteered at others and other sporting events as well. Some know him as a ref and others just know him as the “bike guy.” He touched many lives in his time here on earth and left really big shoes to fill. He will be greatly missed.

He is remembered by his wife of 51 years, Betji; his children: Alyce (Herb) Henderson, and Jym (Ali) Bourgeault, and his grandchildren: Brodie, Daniel, Maxx, Ahna, Lily, Caleb, Evah, and Gabby.

A memorial service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Fundamental Baptist Church in Kinross. The service will also be lived-streamed for those who cannot attend. Links on Fundamental’s web page. There will be a dessert fellowship that follows the service in the gym.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be dropped off at Pro Sports for the Chippewa County Animal Shelter, Hospice of the EUP, or Project9line (veterans) in the month of May, or left to a charity of your choice.
