Carol Lee Davis

Carol Lee Davis, age 83, of Detour, Michigan, died at the Pennington Home in Pickford, Michigan on May 6, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 8, 1938, to Austin and Marie Elizabeth (Crivea) Sutton.

Carol grew up in St. Ignace, Michigan in the summer and winter in Bradenton, Florida. She worked for her mom and dad’s business, Sutton’s Wagon Wheel in St. Ignace, Michigan. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1958. She met her High School Sweetheart, Bruce Andrew Davis, and they married on September 6, 1958, and started a family. Carol was a homemaker and business owner wife; she kept the world turning around their home. For a short time, she worked for her daughter, Cindy, helping with her convenience store from 1987 to 1991. She also helped Bruce everyday with the Auto Mechanic Garage. In the later years they wintered in Tucson, Arizona.

Carol was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DeTour and was a player on a dart league and a softball league in DeTour.

Carol enjoyed gardening, canning, ceramics, crocheting, and bird watching. She loved all holidays, especially Christmas, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her son and daughters, Bryan (Joni) Davis of Drummond Island, Michigan, Cindy Benson of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, Debbie (Allan) Davis of DeTour Vlg., Michigan and Regina (Ron) Davis of Tucson, Arizona; Grandchildren, Bryan (Polly) Davis Jr, Jenny Davis, Dustin Barbeau, Melanie (Dan) Minta, Brittany (Dustin) Bawks, Anthony Babich, Michael Babich II, Gunnar and Grant Fountain; great-grandchildren, Austen, Collins, Cole, Ty, Zaviara, Ava, and Kayson; sisters-in-law, Peggy Sutton of Lower Michigan and Mary Johnson of Tucson, Arizona; brother-in-law, Evan (Carol) Davis of Cedar Springs, Michigan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Marie Sutton; husband, Bruce; sister, Scharline (Dan) Gallagher; brother, Donald Sutton; sisters-in-law, Pat (Gregg) Davis, Bonnie Davis, and Jamie Moody; brother-in-law, Roger Johnson; father & mother-in-law, Cecil and Regina Davis

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Pennington Home and all the hospice nurses who cared for their mother. Your love and compassion is greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
