Lorraine Edna Cameron

Lorraine Edna Cameron, age 88, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away February 24, 2022, at Hospice of the EUP “Hospice House” in Sault Ste. Marie.

Lorraine was born on April 22, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan to the late John B. Nolan and Gertrude S. (Parish) Adams.  She graduated with a General Equivalency Degree in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Lorraine enjoyed many things such as spending time at the casino and playing cards with others, she also enjoyed fishing, and visiting Drummond Island, but most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her husband, PJ.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Paul J. Cameron Jr. whom she married on May 1, 1987, in Sault Ste. Marie officiating by her brother who was the tribal judge; her children: Jeri (Gerald) A. Vogel of Phoenix, Laurie (Chuck) S. Gustafson of Sault Ste. Marie, Nancy (Rick) L. Shields of Indian River, Donna (Steve) J. Goetz of Sault Ste. Marie, and Brenda (Jeff) S. King of Brimley: numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Lorraine is also survived by her siblings: Peggy J. Clement, John “Muggo” Nolan, Maggie J.(Conrad) Green, and her sister-in-law: Sally Nolan.Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and children: Valarie A. Davis and Wanda L. Griffin. Lorraine was also preceded in death by her brother: George K. Nolan; her brother-in-law: Lewis Clement; and her sister-in-law: Shirley Nolan; and her grandson Adam Davis.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Niigaanagiizhik Cultural Center.  Friends may gather that same day from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.   Immediately following the services, a luncheon will be held. Burial will be held later in the Spring. In lieu of flowers memorial may be left to Hospice of the EUP.
