John Steven King, 68, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Tuesday February 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1953 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to William and Mary (Rucker) King.
John was a devout member of the Catholic Faith recently attending the Holy Name of Mary Pro Cathedral. He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1973 until honorably discharged in 1977 as and Electricians Mate 2nd Class. John, my Dad, loved to work on lots of things. He was very much mechanically inclined and had a passion for the outdoors. John, his son Joel, and friends and family loved spending time outdoors and camping.
John is survived by his ex-wife, Andrea Lang; son, Joel S. King; step-daughter, Leah Buckmiller; sisters, Ann Marie (Robert J) Amell, Ruth Maty (Nyle) Clow, and sister in law Jackie (Frank) King.
John is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Frank William King and Joseph E. King. There will be a memorial service Saturday February 12, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Sault Tribe Cultural Center. His final resting place is Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
