Peter John Talsma

Peter John Talsma, age 58, of Rudyard, Michigan, died on December 2, 2021, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on March 31, 1963, in Sault Ste. Marie to Gerald A. and Jean E. (Meyers) Talsma.

Peter was raised in the little town of Rudyard where he attended High School. He loved spending time working at the family farm—taking care of the dairy cows, moving hay, and doing whatever he could to help out. He also enjoyed playing basketball in High School and was in the Men’s League. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation in St. Ignace where he drove the snowplow truck.

Peter was a member of the Rudyard Christian Reformed Church and the Future Farmers of America youth organization.

Peter enjoyed spending his free time assembling miniature models and working on antique tractors. He was also a fan of movies and taking his motorcycle out for a ride down the backcountry roads.

Peter is survived by his mother, Jean Talsma of Rudyard; sister, Brenda Talsma of Hillsdale, Michigan; brothers, Terry Talsma, Mike (Georgia) Talsma, and Ken (Jennifer) Talsma of Rudyard; nieces and nephews, Chris Oja, Carrie Hoerner, Addison Talsma, Annabelle Talsma, Brycen Talsma, Asher Talsma, and Hudson Talsma.

Peter is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Talsma.
