Herbert Charles Scales, Jr

Herbert Charles Scales, Jr., 74, of Barbeau Michigan, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at his home.

Herbert was born on July 28, 1947, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, to Herbert Charles and Evelyn Millicent (TenEyck) Scales, Sr.  He graduated with Sault High School Class of 1965, after attending several country schools in Bruce Township.  After graduating, he held several different kinds of jobs, but the job he enjoyed most was farming on the family farm. He also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. 

On June 17, 1966, he married Loretta (Craven) Scales, and together they raised 3 children:  Terri (Ted) Hendricks, Kelly Greenier, and Brian (Anne) Scales. 

Herbert is survived by his wife and children; 8 grandchildren:  Teddy, Ryan, and Rachel Hendricks; Conner, Cole, and Makenna Greenier; and David and Danielle Scales.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren:  Lilly, Dakota, Gracelyn, Lucas, Colton, Raelyn, and Kamden. 

Herbert is also survived by his siblings:  Roger (Nancy) Scales, Dennis (Shirley) Scales, Daryl (Linda) Scales, Saundra Coullard, Judy (John) Peasley, as well as several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a sister, Lorrie Scales.

Private services were held at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
