Calvin “Cub” Brien Horn

Calvin “Cub” Brien Horn, age 69, of Mackinac Island, Michigan, died October 16, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 12, 1952, on Mackinac Island, to Armand Miles and Shirley Jean (LaPine) Horn.

Cub was the fourth of seven siblings and a life-long resident of Mackinac Island. He loved to golf, fish, and hunt with his dog, Buddy. No matter where Cub was you would find his best friend, Buddy, close beside him. He was a member of the Mackinac Island Fire Department for many years. Cub worked for the City of Mackinac for 40+ years until he retired. He always loved to joke around and said what was on his mind. There was a hug and a big smile for his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whenever he saw them. For many years, Cub could be found at his shop repairing small engines and snowmobiles. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Horn; children, Robert (Nicole) Horn of Barbeau, Michigan, Brett Horn of Mackinac Island and Jennifer DePollo-Horn of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; grandchildren, Brian Horn of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Jonathan (Emma Gustafson) Horn of Sault Ste. Marie, Dakota Horn of Mackinac Island, Michigan and Jono Hagalee of Sault Ste. Marie; brother, James (Colleen) Horn of Hessel, Michigan; sisters, Mila (Joe Moses) Horn of St. Ignace, Michigan, Squeak Horn of St. Ignace, Melinda and Matthew (Horn) Porter of Harbor Springs, Michigan; sister-in-law, Janetta Horn of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
