Obituary For Thomas Arthur Bosley
Thomas Arthur Bosley, known to many as “Moose”, and, in his later years, affectionately as “Bubba,” passed away on September 13, 2026. Tom had been a patient for several years at Medilodge of Sault Ste. Marie. A special thank you to the staff there, especially to Evelyn, Tom’s favorite nurse.
Tom was born on January 30, 1949, and lived his entire life in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where he developed a lifelong love of water and boats. Fittingly, his very first word was “boat.”
Tom dedicated his entire career to caring for others as a Respiratory Therapist at War Memorial Hospital. His patients loved him for his goofiness, his genuine concern for them, and the big heart he always brought to his work. For example, to calm nervous patients, Tom would do his unique version of a “funny dance.”
That big heart extended far beyond his medical career. Tom had a sweet, innocent nature and was incredibly generous. He would give anyone anything if he thought it would help. Whether it was finding and delivering a TV when a niece needed one during college, or replacing and delivering a kitchen appliance after his sister mentioned that hers had broken, Tom had a quiet way of showing people he loved them.
Tom could often be found at home drinking coffee throughout the day, watching the news, and visiting with a friend or neighbor gathered around his kitchen table. He loved Queen Elizabeth II and had decorations throughout his home that celebrated her. He traveled to London in the 1990s with his sister, Linda, and a friend, a trip he often talked fondly of. Tom loved his family deeply, especially his sisters.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Linda Unke of Appleton, Wisconsin, Kathy Rhoads of Brick, New Jersey and Norma Landreville of Cedarville, Michigan; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Bosley; and his oldest sister, Mary Ellen Soule.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sault, tentatively planned during the first week of July 2027. Details will be announced at a later date.
