Obituary For Betty Ann Adams

Betty Ann Adams, age 75, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Straits Area Senior Living Center in St. Ignace. She was born on March 15, 1951, to Everett and Opal (Hunter) Wiley.

Betty grew up in Homer, Michigan. In her early years, Betty became a young mother to two daughters and spent many years working as a waitress. She later met Benjamin Adams, and the two were married on November 21, 1975. Through their marriage, Betty also gained a son.

In the early 1990’s, Betty and Ben moved to Union City, Michigan, where they made their home on the lake and loved the life it brought them. Many days were spent watching the fisherman come and go, having fish fry’s featuring Ben’s catch, and entertaining family and friends. Betty also enjoyed hosting many family gatherings at their home.

Later in life, Betty continued her education at Kellogg Community College, where she earned her associate degree and became an X-ray technician, a career she continued until her retirement.

Betty found joy in the simple things in life. She loved to craft, especially quilting and sewing, and was always ready to take on another creative project. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and a good game of Scrabble. Betty was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Lisa (David) Swope of St. Ignace; son, Craig (Beth) Adams of Concord, Michigan; grandchildren, Corey (Emily) Swope, Chelsea (Jon) Gwizdala and Meghan (Tyler) Stone; great-grandchildren, Sadie Gwizdala, Sutton Gwizdala, Tyler Stone, Noah Stone, Tucker Stone, and Nash Stone; and siblings, Larry Wiley of Marshall, Michigan, and Jewell Butters of Homer, Michigan.
