Crawford County Man Released on Bond After Arraignment on Charges of Attempted Murder, Torture, Strangulation and Many More Serious Charges

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A Lovells Township man is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and torture, following what the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office describes as a 56-hour investigation.

William Gergosky, 52, of Lovells Township, was arraigned on charges of attempted murder, assault with intent to murder, torture, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, unlawful imprisonment, tampering with evidence, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer.

During Gergosky’s arraignment, a judge set bond at $300,000 with additional restrictions.

In a statement, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged community concerns about the possibility of Gergosky posting bond and being released.

“We have and will continue to work on this case to the best of our ability and any further incidents stemming from the release of Gergosky will be investigated to the fullest,” the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the sheriff’s office said no additional information will be released at this time.
