Every five years, critical decisions are made that directly shape the health, beauty, and
sustainability of local forests, farmland, waterways, and wildlife across the Eastern Upper
Peninsula. To ensure these efforts truly reflect the community’s vision, the Chippewa Luce
Mackinac Conservation District (CLMCD) is calling on all landowners, farmers, forest managers,
and residents across Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac counties to take its Conservation Needs
Assessment (CNA) Survey.
Your feedback matters deeply. The survey responses directly outline local priorities,
empowering CLMCD to secure crucial grant funding, develop tailored technical assistance, and
design community educational programs that reflect what matters most to you over the next
five years. As an organization dedicated to assisting local stewards with natural resource
management, CLMCD relies on public guidance to align its work with the true needs of the
community. Local conservation decisions shouldn’t be dictated from Lansing or Washington,
D.C.—they should be shaped by the people who live, work, and care for this land every day.
Whether you manage hundreds of agricultural acres, tend a few woodland acres, or simply care
about protecting local shorelines and water quality, your unique perspective is essential.
Taking the survey is quick and meaningful, requiring only about 10 minutes to complete. It asks
for your individual priorities and concerns regarding our region’s natural resources, while also
offering an opportunity to share feedback on how CLMCD performed over the last five years
and how the District can serve you even better moving forward.

mobile device. If you prefer a physical copy, you can stop by the main office at 2847 Ashmun
