Bay Mills Resort’s Sacy’s Restaurant Closed After Roof Collapse

At this time, officials are responding to a partial roof collapse at Sacy’s Restaurant located within Bay Mills Resort & Casino.

There have been no reported injuries. Law enforcement, EMS, and the fire department are currently on scene conducting evaluations and ensuring the safety of the area.

Preliminary observations indicate the collapse may be related to broken roof trusses. The situation remains under assessment. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. At this moment in time, Sacy’s Restaurant will be closed until further notice. We will also be evacuating the gaming floor for precautionary measure at this time and ask that all guests and employees report to the Back Bay Grill & Games.

UPDATE: We are very pleased to report now that the Bay Mills Resort & Casino main floor has reopened to the public. However, Sacy’s Restaurant and the adjoining hallway will remain closed until further notice pending continued assessment and safety evaluations. Guests traveling to and from the hotel and main casino floor are asked to use the designated walkway for access.

We are grateful to share that no injuries have been reported, and that no additional structural damage has been identified outside of the immediate areas of concern. Our deepest gratitude goes out to the employees at Bay Mills Resort & Casino who, due to their rapid response and quick evacuation, helped ensure the safety of both guests and staff.

At this time, the cause of the roof collapse and related broken roof trusses remains under investigation. It cannot be assumed that the roof collapse was due to snow load, as maintenance staff have been actively conducting ongoing snow shoveling and other preventative care in the area and on the roofs. Moving forward, safety and engineering assessments will continue as repairs are completed to ensure full structural integrity.
