WEXFORD COUNTY, MI. Troopers from the MSP Cadillac Post responded to E. 44 ½ Road near S. 43
½ Road in Clam Lake Township for a single vehicle traffic crash.
On June 11 at approximately 12:15 a.m., troopers arrived on scene and observed a vehicle off the roadway that had struck a pole. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, 23-year-old Levi Oung, got into a verbal argument with a 19-year-old female passenger and intentionally ran off the road into the gravel portion of the roadway.
Oung then re-entered the roadway, lost control, and veered across the road into the opposite lanes of
travel. The vehicle then entered a ditch and struck a utility pole. The passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
After the report was reviewed by the Wexford County Prosecutor’s office, troopers arrested Oung on July 21.
Oung was arraigned on July 21 in the 84 th District Court in Wexford County on one count of Reckless
Driving Causing Serious Impairment of a Body Function. He was given a $25,000 cash surety bond. His
next court appearance is scheduled for July 29 at 10:30 a.m.
Troopers were assisted by the Cadillac Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response (MMR), and
Peterson’s Towing.
