The Sault High track and field teams celebrated their successful seasons and honored athletes with perpetual awards. After graduating a number of strong athletes last year, the Lady Blue Devils still had a season to be proud of. They won the LSSU Yooper Invite indoor meet, Harbor Springs Ram Scram, Boyne City Invitational, and the Inland Lakes Bulldog Invite. Track MVPs this season were Grace Mayer and Bella Smith, and the Field MVP was Annabelle Fazzari. The Most Improved Award went to Ava Mayer. Jordyn Giffin was presented with the Wallis Determination Award and the McLain Coaches Award went to Stephanie Jones and Abrianna Spencer. Izzy McCord and Asia Jones were named as the Outstanding Newcomers. Annabelle Fazzari was recognized for earning the most points this season, placing her as number four on the all time leader board for Sault High Track and Field.
The boys team also won a number of meets and invitationals this season. They were champions of the Petoskey Quad, Harbor Springs Ram Scram, Escanaba Invite, Boyne City Invite, Inland Lakes Invite, and Petoskey Invite. This team of talented athletes were runners up in both the MHSAA Region 41 competition and the MHSAA UP Finals. Track MVPs were Gabe Litzner and Isaac Niebuhr and Field MVP was Brady Ditmyer. Evan Huyck and Javonte Bellamy earned the Most Improved award for track and Tristan Walcher won the award for field. The Coaches’ Award was presented to Johnny Osborn and Wyatt Peabody. The Horizon Award was given to Ian Southwell and Max VanDoren and Caleb Klier earned the Captains Awards.
