The Sault High Varsity cross country team had a good showing at the 56th Annual Holly-Duane Raffin Festival of Races. The Boys’ team placed third overall in a field of twelve teams. Junior Gabe Litzner (15:34.8) finished first overall, and had the fastest time on the day of all the runners. His teammates all joined him on the podium as the top 30 runners in Division 3. Junior Shea Armstrong (16:47.7), seniors Eli Hills (18:17.3) and Evan Huyck (18:22.7) and junior Daniel Bowerman (18:41.6) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devil harriers. Chase Aldridge (19:07.7) and Adam Brandt (19:20.3) completed the roster.
The Lady Blue Devils finished ninth in a field of 14 teams. Isabelle McCord (22:01.8) and Stephanie Jones (22:53.3) made the podium for the girls’ team. Isabeau Woodard (25:03.6), Elise Proulx (25:48.2), and Eleanor Lavey (25:53.2) contributed to the team’s score. Addyson Labadie (27:26.7) and Nicole Perez (27:29.6) rounded out the girls’ team.
The Sault will send a large group of runners to Jackson this Friday for their high school and middle school invitational.
