Joseph Hudson

Joseph “Muffin” Edmund Hudson, age 57, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away on October 15, 2022, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Joseph was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 20, 1965. He was a graduate of Chippewa Hills High School (1984), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s U.S. Indian Police Academy (Class #59), Mid Michigan Community College (2009), and Central Michigan University (2013). Joseph led a distinguished career as a public servant, having served the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe for over 25 years as a police officer, investigator, and foster care worker. He also was an inaugural employee for the TSA in Grand Rapids, and most recently, he was a foster care worker for Bay Mills Social Services.

Joseph enjoyed going to the casino, watching Sci-Fi movies, and more recently, TikTok. He enjoyed listening to music, especially “hair bands”. Joseph loved to laugh and joke with people. He was a member of the Bay Mills Indian Community and the Moose Lodge #195. He will be missed by his little dog: Snickers.

Joseph is survived by two sons: Joshua Hudson of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Jeffrey (Cassandra) Hudson of Niles, MI; a granddaughter: Jezebell Hudson; his parents: Julius “Rocky” and Regina (Teeple) Hudson of Bay Mills, MI; and a sister: Julie (Mike) Craven of Bay Mills, MI; as well as several Aunts and Uncles and many cousins.

A visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Armella Parker Senior Center with a Pipe Ceremony at 5 PM. The visitation will continue on until the time of a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, also at the Armella Parker Senior Center. Burial will be at Mission Hill.
