Walter Charlie Hyvarinen Sr.

Walter Charlie Hyvarinen Sr., age 89, of Brimley, MI passed away on January 20, 2022, at his home.

Walter was born on October 5, 1932, in Brimley, Michigan to the late Charles and Hilma (Ahola) Hyvarinen. He was one of 12 children. He attended Brimley High School and later received his Master’s Degree in Education. He served two years in the United States Army. He married Eila Pennanen on December 19, 1981, in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan.

Walter is survived by his wife Eila, and his two children: Donna J (George) Weatherly of Brimley, MI, and Kathie D (Randy). Blalock of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, eight grandchildren: Jamie, Diana, Kelsi, Ezra, Janine, TJ, Douglas Jr. and Holli; nine great grandchildren: Samantha, Baylie, Hunter, Ezra V, Ryker, Aurora, Isabelle, Kyleigh, Ashton, and numerous more loved ones.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents and son: Walter (Roseann) Hyvarinen Jr., grandson Ezra Glenn IV, and several siblings.

The service will be held at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home, Sault Ste Marie, MI. Saturday January 29, 2022, viewing at 11:00 am for friends and family, and the service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Rudy Hyvarinen officiating.
