Thomas Daniel Crimin

Thomas Daniel Crimin age 78 passed away peacefully at his home on 1/11/2022 with his loving family at his bedside. Tom was the devoted loving husband of Linda (Hoath) Crimin for the past 56 years. They were married in 1965 in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan and raised 3 boys together.

Tom was born in 1943 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. He was the son of Harold and Viola (Murphy) Crimin. Tom’s father passed away when he was only 2 years old which left Tom and his sister Ella Mae in charge of taking care of their family farm with their mother.

Tom graduated from Sault Area High School in 1962 where he then worked 3 years on the American Steamship Lines. He then worked at Michigan Bell/ AT&T until retirement. After retirement he worked as a courier for War Memorial Hospital. Tom was a hard worker and seldom could sit still. He was a devoted family man and always put his family and friends needs before his own.

Tom has been an active member for many years of local clubs and associations including a lifetime member of the Elks, Sault Amateur Hockey and Tri-country speed horse association to name a few.

In his younger days he really enjoyed coaching Sault Amateur Hockey and being the caretaker of the ice at Kaines Rink. He and his wife Linda also really enjoyed many years of billeting hockey players in their family home. Tom was also one of the founders of the Soo Hawks Midget AAA hockey team that began in 1989 and still continues today under the name the Soo Indians.

He especially enjoyed his many years of Friday night card playing with his special group of longtime friends. We also know the Zimmerman boys and Ray Clegg held a very special place in Tom’s heart.

Tom will always be remembered as the loving devoted grandfather that always enjoyed taking his grandchildren camping, yearly family vacations to the Carolinas, attending their sporting/school events, always teaching them about life and always having a listening ear when the grandkids needed advice.

Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Crimin (Hoath). His son Dan and wife Brenda and their 2 children Jenna and Jarret of Sault Ste. Marie. His son David and Kay and his children Tytin and Blaine of Arizona and Brooke of Sault Ste. Marie. His son Derek and wife January and their 3 children, Lauren, Emily and Drew of Charlotte, North Carolina. Tom’s sister Ella Mae (Jack Young) of Belvedere, Illinois.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 14th, at the First Church of Christ (west spruce street) from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with memorial services to immediately follow. A luncheon at the church will follow the memorial services.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Church of Christ or Hospice of the EUP.
