CALUMET, MI – A teenager has been arrested after a woman was found dead in the Upper Peninsula.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to the scene of the shootingat a home on Quincy Street in Franklin Township at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene and found a 38-year-old female deceased in the home.
A preliminary investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old male who is a suspect in the homicide. Police did not say if he is related to or knew the victim.
He is lodged in the Houghton County Jail pending arraignment. This homicide remains under investigation.
