Patricia Paquette

Patricia Louise Paquette, age 74, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away on December 30, 2021, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born on May 25, 1947, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI the daughter of the late Anna (Ranson) and John Shaski, Sr. She graduated from Loretto Catholic High School with the class of 1965. On October 2, 1965, Patricia married her high school sweetheart, John Paquette. She enjoyed attending her weekly tea group, reading a new book, going to the movies, visiting with friends, and most importantly being with her family that she was so proud of.

Patricia worked for the Sault Schools for many years and touched the lives of numerous students. She was without a doubt the most loving human being. Patricia made everyone want to be a better person. She was the epitome of the word ‘grace’.

Patricia is survived by her husband: John; her children: Anna (John) Ockenfels and John (Laurie) Paquette; four grandchildren: Michael Paquette, Jenna (Cody) McLaren, Abby VanSumeren, and Andrew VanSumeren; and two great-grandchildren: Owen McLaren, and Baby Boy McLaren due in February. She is also survived by three sisters: JoAnne (Bill) Marsden of Salem, NH, Trudy (Pat) Aguiar of Castle Rock, CO, and Rhea Beth (Ron) Campos of Kelseyville, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother: John Shaski, Jr.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 10th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Michael Chenier as celebrant.
