Lorne Percy Sheppard

Lorne Percy Sheppard passed peacefully at his home on January 24, 2022, at age 85.

He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Percy and Eleanor (Smart) Sheppard on March 13, 1936. He graduated from Sault High School and shortly after went to work for Michigan Bell. Lorne retired after 31 years. He was an original member of the I-500 Board and he belonged to the Elks Lodge #552. Lorne lived the farmer’s life for many years and loved carpentry. He made many beautiful wooden projects for his children and grandchildren.

Lorne leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Sharon; 7 children: Judy McCoy, Paul Sheppard, Tammey Brock, Karen Brock (Scott), Brenda (Rick) Corbiere, Lori Bogart, and Jennifer (Chris) Henry; 3 sisters: Marge Johnston, Sara Jones, and Susan Hovie; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, January 31, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gabbard officiating. Friends may gather at the funeral home that same day starting at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
