Sharon Darlene Thompson

Sharon Darlene (McDonald) Thompson, age 75, of Clarkston, Michigan, died on December 24, 2021, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Oakland County, Michigan. Sharon was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on February 15, 1946, to parents Lloyd and Lempi (Larson) McDonald.

After high school, Sharon worked in Manufacturing for a few years before then becoming a mother of three beautiful children. She married the love of her life, Donald “Don” James Thompson, on January 22, 1966, in Livingston County, Michigan. Sharon was overjoyed when she became a grandma which filled her life with more excitement and love. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Everyone’s needs were always met because of her immeasurable love for her family.

Sharon spent her free time tending to her garden and flowers. Her favorite color was purple and she was passionate about her multicolored flowers beds. Every spring her yard would look like a professional florist gallery. She also enjoyed spending time visiting the local Farmers Market and treating herself to manicures. Most of all, Sharon loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. There were many fond memories produced over the years providing heavenly healing for family and friends during this difficult time. Sharon will be missed by everyone.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Don Thompson of Clarkston; children, Christine Thompson of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Don Jr. (Tracy) Thompson of Pontiac, Michigan, and Jennifer Thompson of Auburn Hills, Michigan; grandchildren, Sydnee Thompson, Samantha Thompson, Julian Thompson, Gabriel Swartz, Avery Darlene Thompson-Saiz; a great-grandchild due in March; siblings, Arbutus Carr of Rudyard, Michigan, Gary (Ellie) McDonald of St. Ignace, Michigan, and Kathy (Steve) Fountain of Cedarville, Michigan, and sister-in-law, Yovone McDonald of Cedarville as well as many beloved friends and family.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lempi McDonald; brothers, Leo (Irene) Kemp and William McDonald; and sisters, Vera Taylor and Corrine (Roger) Fountain; and brother-in-law, Clifford Carr.

Services will be held on December 30, 2021, at Galer Funeral Homes & Cremation, 24549 S. M-129, Pickford, Michigan 49774. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with services to follow at 1:00 PM.

A burial will take place at Cottle Cemetery in Pickford, Michigan in Spring 2022.
