Richard “Rick” Gabriel Shenoskey

Richard “Rick” Gabriel Shenoskey, age 73, of Cedarville, Michigan, walked on December 20, 2021, at his home. Richard was born September 22, 1948, in Nun’s Creek, Michigan, to Steve and Eva (Keway) Shenoskey.

Rick graduated from Cedarville High School. After graduation Rick moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where he worked several years in various foundries. Rick found a job working for the Grand Rapids City Water Department. Rick was a well-liked, hardworking co-worker, and received several merits over the years. Rick retired from the city in 2010.

Richard was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.

Rick loved to travel. Woodworking and the love of his cabin kept him busy. Boxing was a well-known favorite sport of his. He appreciated his culture and enjoyed observing powwows. He was an avid reader, and you could often find him working on the newspaper crossword puzzles.

Richard is survived by his children, Raymond (Dawn) Shenoskey of Charlevoix, Michigan, Sherry Shenoskey of Charlevoix, Michigan and Richard Shenoskey Jr. “toog” of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Raymond Shenoskey II, Leroy Shenoskey, Steven Russell, Brandon Zipp, and Mary Zipp; great-granddaughter, Linda Finch; and siblings, Steven Shenoskey, Edward Shenoskey, and Jeannette Keshick.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Eva; granddaughter, Stephanie Russell; and siblings, Sam Shenoskey, Mary Ann Shenoskey Taylor, and Rose Shenoskey Fauvel.
