Lillian Maria Albone

Lillian Maria Albone, 88, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed peacefully at her daughter Kathy’s home in Davisburg, MI on December 17, 2021. She was born June 5, 1933 on Sugar Island, MI to Svante and Sylvia (Maki) Salo.

Lillian grew up on Sugar Island where she met her husband Ken and was Married on September 30, 1950. Lillian enjoyed staying at home raising her children and being involved in school activities. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was in different knitting groups with many friends. She loved spending time with family, friends, and her many grandchildren. Family dinners and card games were a regular pastime. She also volunteered at the Thrift Shop for many years. She could always be seen walking about town as she loved to walk everywhere.

Lillian is survived by her children, Kenneth R. Albone of Burlington, NJ, Sandra Beatty of Camp Point, IL, Kathy Hibner of Davisburg, MI, Todd (Karen) Albone of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Brad Albone of Yucca Valley, CA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Albone on July 22, 2005; daughter, Linda Albone in 2018; son, Stephen who died at birth; brother, Svante Salo of Ohio; twin brother, Robert Salo of Sault Ste. Marie; sister, Helen Delores of Florida; and granddaughter Stephanie Beatty.

Visitation will be held Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1011 Minneapolis St, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday December 28, 2021 at 12:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Mark McQuesten officiating. Final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery in the Spring. Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
