MSP chase stolen vehicle across Mackinac Bridge

“On 11-17-21 at approximately 11:40 pm troopers from the MSP St. Ignace Post were working directed patrol on the Mackinac Bridge. Troopers observed a green Toyota Tundra traveling at a high rate of speed, north bound across the Mackinac Bridge. The suspect vehicle was traveling at 73mph in a 45-mph zone. Troopers were able to get the suspect vehicle stopped near the toll booth area of the Mackinac Bridge. After a routine check the suspect vehicle came back stolen out of San Saba Texas. According to San Saba Police Department the vehicle was taken from a used car dealership in the City of San Saba. The suspect, a 32-year-old man from Grayling, went into the dealership, took the vehicle for a test ride, and never returned with it. 

While attempting to arrest the suspect, he fought with the troops. Troopers were able to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was lodged at the Mackinac Co. Jail for possessing a stolen vehicle, resisting and obstructing police officers, operating under the influence of drugs, and not having a valid operator license. MSP troopers were assisted by Mackinac Co. Sheriff Department and the St. Ignace Police Department.”
