Mary Louise Lounds

Mary Louise (Hewitt) Lounds Age 78 of Sault Ste. Marie, Born February 20 1943 daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Kirkruff) HewittPassed away surrounded by four generations of her loving familyMonday October 11th 2021

Mary Lou was born, raised, and lived out the many amazing years of her life in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Creating a beautiful family in the house they purchased from her Grandma directly across the street from her own childhood family home, she raised four wonderful girls- her three daughters and a niece whom she loved and raised as her own while her brother was away. Many years later with dreams of country living, she helped build her own home with family and friends and went on to spoil many grandchildren and then great grandchildren there in Brimley, Michigan. She made her way back to town just a few years ago where she was able to get an apartment that was close to the locks and offered amazing views of freighters from her window which she loved.

She was a beloved Daughter/Sister/Mother/Wife/Gram/Great Grandma Aunt/Cousin and Friend. An amazing and beautiful lady with a heart of gold, whose love, smile and kindness changed the world for all who knew her.

Love was her superpower. She loved everyone she knew with all of her heart. She not only made them feel loved, important, capable and connected but reminded them how important they were to and for each other as well as to her and to treasure that always. She worked at War Memorial Hospital for 27 years sharing her gifts and helped many people there as well. She was generous, supportive, and understanding. She loved long country drives, all seasons, Golden Girls, Elvis Presley, Classic Country Music, her Tea and Toast and of course dessert. She loved all animals and found great joy in the simple things such as feeding the geese at the park or the bunnies or racoons in the yard and taking in many, many stray cats over the years.

Her values, character, love, laughter, guidance, encouragement and praise will live on in all the lives she touched!

If you knew this woman you knew love and she will always love you.
