Judith Frechette

Judith Ann “Judy” Frechette, of Sugar Island, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2021, at War Memorial Hospital.

Judy was born on November 8, 1943, to the late Roger and Mary (Shannon) Pudil in Lansing. She was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church. Judy worked in Security at Kewadin Casino for 15 years, meeting many celebrities over the years. Judy’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, country music, watching her “soaps”, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, and feeding the fox.

Judy is survived by her husband: Melvin, whom she married on March 16, 1964, her children: Lori (Russell) Tyner of Neebish Island, MI, Daniel (Erika) Frechette of Naples, FL, Jacqulyn Frechette of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Darren (Diane) Frechette of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren: Courtney Tyner, Michaela (Austin) Clow, Autumn Kinnear, Hunter (Emilee) Tyner, Daniel Frechette, Jacob Frechette, Mel Frechette, Tyler Frechette, and Emilie Frechette; and great-grandchildren: Colton Clow and one on the way.

Judy is also survived by her siblings: Diane Shannon of Lansing, MI, Pat LaBranche of Sault Ste. Marie, MI Terry (James) Patterson of Grand Blanc, MI, Billie Jo Pudil of Lansing MI, Mike Shannon of Lansing, MI, Mark Shannon of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Sylvia Stephenson of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

Judy was proceeded in death by her parents, brother Rocky Pudil, and granddaughter Theresa Ann Frechette.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie, MI with Fr. Dominic Yamoah as Celebrant. A Tribal ceremony will be conducted before services. Friends may gather at the church from 8:30 until the time of Mass.

 In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations which will be directed to the Bayliss Public Library.
