Mary Ellen Reavie, age 78, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on Monday, March 8, 2021, in Cheboygan, Michigan. She was born on March 16, 1942 in Sault Ste. Maire, Michigan, to Francis William and Loretta Bernadette (Tromblay) Martin.
Mary Ellen grew up in St. Ignace, Michigan and graduated from LaSalle High School. After high school, she married and raised two children of her own, who became her pride and joy. She babysat for Jimmy Neil, Michael, and Jeffery.
Mary Ellen was a member of the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Mary Ellen loved spending time with children. When not surrounded by her family, you would find her visiting her friends or watching some westerns on the TV. She is fondly remembered as a loving mother and friend. She welcomed everyone with open arms and smiles.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter, Danielle (Steve) Sawyers of Sault Ste. Marie; son, Sean (Melissa) Reavie of Glendale, Arizona; brother-in-law, Dr. Lester McLachlan of Seminole, Florida; nieces and nephews, Samantha (Steve) Cotter, Bryan (Susan) McLachlan, Dr. Monica (Henry) Pierpan; great-nieces and nephews, Alana Cotter, Kelsey McLachlan, Kaden McLachlan, Reid Pierpan, and Landon Pierpan and best friend Judi Sved; ex-husband, Edward Reavie.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patricia Ann McLachlan.
Graveside Memorial Service will be announced.
Burial will be at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, in St. Ignace.
