Wednesday night’s girls’ basketball district final, between Mackinac Island and Cedarville has been cancelled, as the Lakers opted out of the tournament. This means the Trojans are district champions in Division 4, District 102, without having taken the court, and advance to the regional semifinal on Monday at Sault Ste. Marie.

Mackinac Island, joins Pickford and DeTour, as other schools in the girls’ district who will not participate in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s postseason, due to COVID-19 protocols and/or lack of numbers. They join both the Brimley boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, and the Sault High boys, who found out earlier this week they would not be able to play playoff basketball this season, due to COVID-19.
