Lorraine Florence Kalisiewicz, age 77, of DeTour Village, Michigan, died February 19, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 27, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, to August and Sylvia (Strazlowski) Abraham.
Lorraine grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cody High School in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart Edwin Kalisiewicz in Detroit. While still in high school she worked at Farmer Jack’s and continued to work there for a total of ten years before working at Ford Motor Company. She worked at Ford for at total of 30 years from 1970 until 2000. Having purchased a vacation home in DeTour in 1992, she and Ed made DeTour their home for retirement.
Lorraine and Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, visiting casinos, and traveling. Some of their travel destinations included Niagara Falls, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma. Lorraine raised birds and enjoyed her dogs, Sadie and Barney.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Ed; daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Matteocci of Newport, Michigan; son, Kenneth (Danielle) Kalisiewicz of Metamora, Michigan; grandchildren, Paige Kalisiewicz, Mackenzie Kalisiewicz, Michael Matteocci, Marina Matteocci, Nathan Kalisiewicz, and Zarek Kalisiewicz; brother, Gary Abraham of Fowlerville, Michigan; brother-in-law Dave Flint of Fenton, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Sandy Abraham of Garden City, Michigan.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Flint; and brother, Dennis Abraham.
A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held on a date to be determined later.
