Sally Marlene (Augustson) Gregg, age 76, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on July 1, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born on December 24, 1949, in Sault Ste. Marie, to William and Edna (Lounds) Augustson.

Sally, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great mother, and sister dedicated her life to her family, her greatest treasure. She graduated from Sault Area High School in 1968. Her first job after school was working at a local dealership where she saved up her money to buy her first car, a Plymouth Satellite. She married Frederick Rogers Gregg on April 22, 1969, while he was on leave from the United States Army. Soon later, Fred, thankfully returned home after being wounded in Vietnam. Sally returned to Lake Superior State University where she graduated with an associate’s in business administration in 1991. Sally’s last job was Parker’s Ace Hardware. Sadly, she suffered multiple strokes in 2008. After a long recovery and therapy, the family was blessed to have Sally return home. She was unable to return to work but she was able to enjoy her grandchildren's growth and share many more birthdays and holidays together. Her last years were spent at the Gregg Homestead where she was dearly loved. Sally was able to meet her great-grand twins, hold them as babies, watch them grow and play into their own unique personalities.

Sally enjoyed reading, crocheting, drawing, and painting. She loved to sew and made numerous clothes for her kids and their Barbie dolls or the Cabbage Patch dolls she also made. She was known for going to garage sales and flea markets. She loved her Westerns and enjoyed watching them in her later years. She loved her pets dearly; cats and dogs alike and most especially Siamese. Sally loved listening to music and dancing in her early years, pulling a kid or dog in for a quick round and many fun years were spent with the Card Club Ladies.

Sally is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Fred Gregg; children, Wesley (Nicole) Gregg, Jeffery (Minnie) Gregg, and Amber (Kevin) Alexander; the light and love of her grandchildren, Lily Alexander, Alisa Alexander, Kyle Alexander, Erik Alexander, James Kittel, Keira Gregg, and Merinda Gregg; great-grand twins, Wesley Gregg Freed and Matthew Owen Freed; sister, Billie Jean (Michael) Gregg; several nieces and nephews; and extended MacKenzie family.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna; sister, Irene Daw; and uncle, George Lounds.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Pine Grove Cemetery, 639 3 ½ Mile Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026, details to be announced at a later date.
