Obituary For Patric O Farrell

Patric O. Farrell, age 74, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died on September 15, 2026. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on November 10, 1951, to Slyvenus and Betty (Janes) Farrell.

Patric grew up in Mishawaka until the fifth grade, when his family moved to Walker, Minnesota. Growing up on a fishing resort, Patric developed a love for fishing at an early age and spent much of his youth enjoying time on the water.

After graduation, he attended Bemidji University in Minnesota, Patric met the love of his life, Rebecca “Becky” Hagerman. He continued his education at a trade school, where he studied for two years, to become a watchmaker. The two were married on July 27, 1974, beginning a marriage that would span more than five decades. After their marriage, Patric and Becky lived in Willard, Ohio, where Patric owned and operated two jewelry stores. Approximately twelve years later, they moved to Mansfield, Ohio, where he continued his career in the jewelry business by running a jewelry store.

After retiring in 2007, Patric and Becky eventually made their way to Drummond Island, Michigan, where they made their home. Although officially retired, Patric continued doing what he loved and put his skills to work, performing all of the watch work for the Gold Mine in
St. Ignace, Michigan

Patric had a lifelong passion for old automobiles. Over the course of the past fifty-two years, he owned twenty-seven cars that were older than 1940, and he was always excited to have another project to work on. At the time of his passing, he was working on a 1932 Deuce Coupe. His love for these classic automobiles was more than simply collecting them; he enjoyed the process, the craftsmanship, and the time spent working with his hands.

Patric also loved to travel and especially enjoyed his trips to Ireland. He cherished the opportunity to experience new places and make memories along the way. While Patric was not a particularly big sports fan, he was always happy to cheer on Ohio State, largely because Becky loved them.

Patric was a proud member of Drummond Island Lutheran Church, where he also served as an elder. He was also a member of the National Street Rod Association.

Patric is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Becky Farrell; son, Timothy (Heidi) Farrell of Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Patrick David Farrell and Lucy Mary Ann Farrell; and sister-in-law, Debbie Farrell of Walker, Minnesota.

Patric was preceded in death by his son, Peter Jonathan Farrell; parents, Slyvenus and Betty; sister, Kathleen Baker; and brother, Kevin Farrell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the Drummond Island Lutheran Church, 29515 E Channel Rd, Drummond Island, MI 49726. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow.

Patric’s final resting place will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard, Ohio.

Donations in Patric’s honor may be made to the Drummond Island Lutheran Church, 29515 E Channel Rd, Drummond Island, MI 49726.
