Mark Dean Pilcher, age 64, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died at his home on June 3, 2025. He was born on March 9, 1961, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Jimmy Lee and Marjorie Anne (McClellan) Pilcher.

Mark lived in various places throughout his life, including Alaska and Grand Rapids, Michigan, but he always remained closely connected to his roots in Sault Ste. Marie. A hardworking and dedicated man, Mark owned and operated his own commercial painting business, Pilcher Painting, where he took great pride in his craft.

He was a proud member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Mark was a simple man with a deep love for life, nature, and the people around him. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. Music was also close to his heart—he loved playing guitar and sharing that joy with family and friends.

Mark is survived by his son, Adam (Chrissy Griffin) Tobias of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; stepdaughter, Christine Burnett of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; siblings, John T. (Patty) Pilcher of Raleigh, North Carolina, Renee A. (Lynn) Pilcher of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Kimberly A. Pilcher of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Julia A. (Larry) Pilcher of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Heather A. (Trevor) Boissoneau of Garden River, Ontario; grandchildren, Brooklyn Tobias, Charlie and Jake Badgers; father, Jimmy Lee Pilcher;

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie A. Pilcher; and brother, David J. Pilcher.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
